LIVERPOOL STREET STATION PLATFORM EXTENSIONS (GRIP 5-8 DESIGN & BUILD)
Enable Infrastructure extended platforms 16 and 17 at Liverpool Street Station to accommodate 205m Full-Length Units, decommissioning platform 18 in the process. Completed under tight deadlines, the project spanned GRIP 5-8 phases and included IVES slab track installation, modular platform systems, and OLE adjustments. Despite challenges like Covid restrictions and restricted access, Enable’s careful planning and coordinated approach with stakeholders ensured successful completion, readying the station for new train services.

Enable Infrastructure completed an urgent rectifier transformer replacement for Docklands Light Railway (DLR) at Royal Mint Street, ensuring stable power for the network’s busiest line. Following the failure of two 2167kVA rectifier transformers, Enable swiftly designed, installed, and commissioned replacements within an accelerated seven-day timeframe, condensing an original three-week schedule. This complex project involved road and cycle route closures coordinated with Tower Hamlets Council and TfL, securing public safety around the worksite.

Enable Infrastructure successfully delivered two concrete bridges for the A284 Lyminster Bypass in West Sussex, spanning a road and rail line as part of a 1.8km bypass project. Working within pre-scheduled rail possessions alongside Network Rail’s ASPRO team, Enable managed to uphold the construction timeline without impacting railway operations. This included detailed Any Line Open (ALO) planning and a ‘High Street’ working setup that allowed excavation, abutments, and bearing pad work without rail disruption.

Enable Infrastructure’s Hither Green Blockade project delivered essential upgrades at nine stations on the Sidcup, Grove Park, and Bromley North lines, enhancing passenger benefits from Network Rail’s new signalling system. Despite the challenges of Easter 2020 lockdowns, Enable completed extensive works across all stations, including resurfacing, drainage repairs, canopy maintenance, and safety improvements like tactile and coper installations.
